Your mind controls your thoughts , actions , emotional being , mental health , etc.,. Allow your mind to use common sense ! There are many issues to deal with everyday . Not to allow one single thought to occupy a day . Rest ! Sure love is strong and even just feeling it is love or caring . But your very first responsibility is to yourself .A thought here and there to bring a smile . Or a tear here or there to over come okay . But value yourself .Goals , needs ,wants ,responsibilities, then the time for care free thoughts.Control your mind and you'll never hold on to negatives , depression , hurt , pain , just examples of other things that if you don't learn to control your mind , liking someone with every thought ,isn't the only issue you could have .

I'm still trying to figure this out myself. I guess for me the best thing that works to get over one person is finding someone else to over-like. It's definitely better to over-like someone who has a positive influence on you -- maybe you won't do anything too irrational.

The best way is to distract yourself. Keep yourself busy with activities and friends, or helping out with chores and doing work. Also, realize you can't help the way you feel, so tell yourself its ok. It doesn't do any good to focus on telling yourself what not to do, because then you are still obsessing about it.
