In my opinion UN is an extension of the empire to create some legitimacy and not a genuine peoples movement. I am not talking about a global regime but i am certianly talking about global democracy and peoples criticality towards all establishment and political support to communities in distress. I am talking about democracy from below.

Look at this, at least in arguement all of us seem to claim we stand for the good of humanity! Or is it just play of words?

this is mostly an answer from another question but very relevent here:
it's not so much people opposed to people as it is politics vs. politics. thruthfully, there is a way to end this bullshit entirely...abolish all political parties and set term limits. let a person who is willing to take no salary hold office in the goverment...and most of all, take religon out of the goverment.
it's a game meant to make u ask why "the other side disagrees and defend your own political views" that have been "indoctrinated into you" from the very people that you elect. we don't have the choice in this country to put a real honest concerned person in the white house. what we do have is a "filtered canidate from both partys" that will keep the status quo humming. think about this: if we all agreed there would be no need for this "form of goverment" and certainly no reason for Profit Politicians that us americans have been deluded into perceiving as "leaders". neither side has produced a REAL LEADER in decades and i mean decades...
we need to do away with politicians for hire, lobbyist's, and professional politicians. then we MAY have a chance to communicate with one another as equals
if there's a war, it's internal and we're in and it's with the Party Politics and Politicians. problem is we're just the foot soldiers gunning for the other side...everyone of us!
In realting this to the World and Peoples of the World, it still boils down to inbred fighting that sidetracks us from the real issues, some of those listed here, but many more.
the deal is we could solve the majority of the worlds problems if we would shed the "failure to deliver" forms of government that we let control us into scurmish with eact other while the leaders pick our pockets.
now trun around and shoot your neighbor if he is not the same as you... keep being part of the problem [i kid all mankind]

"A small group of motivated people can change the WORLD. Indeed, it is all that ever has." Margaret Meade
We must start by dealing with the issues close at hand. If everyone helped or reached out to only one other person ... how cool would that be?
The only way to "resist the Empire" is to replace it with something else. Structure and Power are not bad things. The abuse of those ... that is the crime,

No. We dont need no more movements. What has the U.N. gotten us? Oil for food scandals. They are corrupt and spineless. The Arab nations have no respect for them.
By empire you mean USA, or any country with power. You wish to resist only because you are NOT the power, and you are jealous. So you wish to attempt to organize so someday you can attack America? Isn't that ur real motivation for wanting this so-called global movement?

Yeah, great idea. Lets put Somalia and Iran as head of your "global peoples movement". The world would last 2 weeks.

How are all those people going to agree on anything, thats the problem now. Most people cant even take care of their own family let alone think on a global level.

Isn't that what the UN is trying to do? Make like a "One World" type of environment? Look how far they've gotten.

Too many ideolgical differences in the world, religious differences, racial differences....perhaps a world wide calamity is what it would take to bring people together.
resist the empire by being a liberal..... free thinker!

Yes we do. Although it takes a bit of time and effort to get going.
If you really want it to happen you can help, or alternatively you can do nothing like most other people.
Either way, it's going to happen.
