They're very practical (although sometimes a little expensive) and they protect our environment, all we need is for more and more people to start using these methods of building and prices will come down, A lot of utility companies offer rebates if you have solar heating, or if you increase your Seer number on your Air conditioning unit, all of these are green building methods, as is using recycled stuff rather than purchasing everything brand new. As far as resale value goes, if it looks good, it will sell and that should be an added incentive for the buyer, especially if it means their maintenance bills will be less than normal.
