I will start the A.A.S. in graphic design at Penn Valley community college. What textbooks do I need for Art 139 Art102 and Art115? Will I need software? What's the syllabus? Will I need a laptop for school? Mac or Windows? or "Mindow/Winmac"? (the new intel based macbook that runs XP and Mac os X Tiger). Any former students that can help me out? Need to start looking for bargains... No financial aid!

It dosent really matter what system you use--be it a mac or windows xp. I lab top would be more flexible because you can carry it with you where ever you go,literally.
But a desktop/ or workstation computer would give you more power, depending what you put in it. Sense you mentioned your taking graphic design,you'll need either Adobe photoshop cs2,adobe illustrator, or the adobe bundle, zbrush or after effects,a tablet PC(for drawing on and transferring your art from the tablet to the PC/lab top.)
Sorry but I can't help you on the financial aid,sorry.
P.S. you might want to search around on studica for a decent deal before purchasing anything be it: licenses,trial versions,ect.
