There is an 'S' in the word 'LISP'. That's tough to say when you actually have a lisp.=)

And there are so many other oddities and absurdities about the English language. I love sharing this poem ....

When the English tongue we speak
Why is break not rhymed with freak?
Will you tell me why it’s true
We say sew, but likewise few?
And the maker of a verse,
Cannot rhyme his horse with worse?
Beard is not the same as heard,
Cord is different from word,
Cow is cow, but low is low,
Shoe is never rhymed with foe.
Think of hose and dose and lose,
And think of goose and yet of choose,
Think of comb and tomb and bomb,
Doll and roll and home and some.
And since pay is rhymed with say,
Why not paid with said I pray?
Think of blood and food and good;
Mould is not pronounced like could.
Wherefore done, but gone and lone -
Is there any reason known?
To sum up all, it seems to me
Sounds and letters don’t agree.

And also the poem at this link.

I guess the S is there so that all who talk about a person with a lisp realise that anyone could lisp at an S word.

i imagine it relies upon on what percentage each body is asking questions at the same time as you - there are cases at the same time as an same questions stay on the first web page for a lengthy time period yet at the same time as that is busy on the following they might in undemanding words be on the first web page for a jiffy...if that and maximum purchasers do not difficulty clicking onto the second one, third web page etc.... :-)
