Keep up the good work, Junior. I'm counting on you to cover my SS and Medicare. Oh, vote for increases in SS while you're at it, too -- okay? That's a good lad!

Since they are the future, I have hope. The drugs nowadays are alot stronger and designed for addiction but then awareness is much more prevalent also. Communication is stronger with most families now so they don't have that generation gap thing we had. And of course the parents as well as the kids have concerns about the future of the planet and I think they are much more aware of the dangers that lie ahead. They aren't getting the press we got because they have the Internet and we printed newspapers. Although some seem to immersed in materialism and seem to have an appetite for self destruction, I really don't think it's that much different than when we were that age. We didn't have to deal with the police state they do. There's a thousand times more cops than when we were marching the streets and the cops have learned a few things about crowd control since then(we taught them) so you don't see the massive protests anymore. You've also got to realize this: when we were young, you could learn a trade at school, get a self sustaining job fairly easily without much education, buy a running automobile for a couple hundred dollars, and second hand clothing was hip. I know business graduates working at Starbucks. Things are alot different now.

Actually, I sort of envy them. So many more opportunities than we had, if they are given a chance at an education. I miss the enthusiasm that they still have. Most that I meet are warm and caring and just as self-absorbed as we were at that age. I hope they do a better job with this world than we have.

I think that they are in trouble, things are moving so much faster, they are grow up before they are 10. Some are smarter, and learn a lot, some just learn and do not apply it. To many drugs, peer pressure, fighting, killing, it is harder than it was when I was coming up, and I thought it was BAD, MAN I am GLAD that I do not have to do it NOW
