it could be a lot of things like stress, habit, anger, nervousness... i wouldnt worry about it

He could be suffering from TMS, Temporal Mandibular Syndrome, a condition caused by the muscles in the jaw being overly developed and the jaw bone not fitting correctly. Have him check in with his physician and see if that might be the problem. If that's not the cause, he may have a stress related factor that is causing the teeth grinding.

Actually, it could be a habit. Many people grind there teeth in the night while they are sleeping and don't even realize it!

Beleive it or not, he may just do it becuase he grinded his teeth one day and now for some reason he can't stop. Perhap's it is not even your friend, but it is you...are you under some stress and are to shy to tell?

It's definitely a stress thing. He needs to see a dentist, this can really screw up his teeth permanently! They will work with him on stopping.
I know about this.....I'm facing (gasp!) some pretty extensive, certainly painful, and most likely expensive dental work to begin within the next month.

is this person awake when they grind thier teeth. because teeth grinding is also a thing people who are on uppers, speed or meth do. i know alot of people who are speed freaks and the constantly grind thier teeth.

I would probly say this is from stress lots of my friends do this when someone from the past apppears or some problem comes in there life

Is that when he is asleep or awake?
It is not uncommon for a sleeping person but he may see a dentist, awake or sleeping.
It will ruin his teeth.
