(all my life I have had nose bleeds due to climate change, but they were always controllable. lately, they have been heavy like a water faucet. I have only been on 10mg of Lipitor for about 2 weeks.)

I work as a pharmacy tech and I haven't heard of lipitor causing nose bleeds. Do you take a blood thinner as well eg: warfarin or even a daily low dose aspirin or regular aspirin? These can cause bleeding.

Have you been checked by a doctor? Nose bleeds are a sign of lukemia. Are you tired all the time?

Or is the air too dry? That is another cause of nose bleeds.

Don't worry yourself to death, but have a check up, it's probably not serious but it never hurts to check it out.

Good Luck

It's not a side effect. My husband had the same thing. It had something to do with the veins in his nose. The doctor sutured the inside of his nose with heat. He no longer has daily nose bleeds.

I haven't heard of this in connection with Lipitor.

Are you also taking a medication to prevent blood clots, like aspirin, Plavix, or Coumadin? A medication in that category might be connected with bleeding.

In any case, talk to your doctor.

No, that's not a side effect. See your doctor.

No it isn't. Are you taking anything else like blood thinners, or possible antihistamines? They might.
