Yes, it's possible. As men age sometimes their sexual desire wanes. Our bodies cahnge, and hormone levels can drop with age. Older men produce less testosterone. That's one reson for hair loss, as well as a lessening of the sex drive.

There could be other medical reasons. Hypothyroidism and depression are a couple of those. If you are concerned, have him take a physical.

32, 42, 52! It doesn't matter. At one time or another we all go through a period where sex is not important as love. Such as, when you lose the one you love and know that he or she can't be replace so you don't try. I am assuming that when you use the word sex for the 52 year old man, you were really thinking about love. Any way, he knows why! He's just not telling you! Maybe he's living on memories of when he loved and was loved or maybe he has not found anyone he can believe in or trust.
Then, there is also the possibility that he is afraid that he can't perform due to a medical condition. If this is your man, you both need to talk and you need to assure him that everything will be fine. If he's not, then leave him alone!

oops! I talk to much

O there could be a medical issue smoking , high blood presser, ED, etc. type of think. If he does not work out, he needs to - you know body image etc. Now there is the other things he is Gay and not telling you the truth, or he want you to jump him. Of course if he was dumped by a lady he loved, he is not interested in getting hurt so no sex no baggage!@
