yea that first answer you got up there is not how it is always done, and is actually rare instances. Thats just what peeps say to scare the **** out of you and make it sound like such a horrible thing.
It is like the other person said, depends on how far along you are. Check out planned parenthood or something. See if they have a website or do more research about it on the net.

In health class in high school they told us that a tube with a vacuum and litle tiny blades on the end goes in to the uterus and slices the fetus up and sucks it up. . .

It kills it by cracking its skull and sucking its brain out with a hose and then the body, if small enough, is sucked through the same hose and if it's too big it's thrown in the garbage.
