The report released today proves that the former government of Iraq lied to weapons inspectors and to the UN Security Council and has stockpiles of WMD's stashed randomly around the country and yet even after all of this is proven the libs here and on TV are STILL coming up with excuses. Why can't they just admit they were wrong, or better yet just admit that they're anti-war hippies?

And, more importantly, why do the libs always pretend that WMD's were the only reason given for a war in the middle east?

That's easy. Back when we were all discussing why Saddam needed his *** kicked, the libs kneejerked their way into a corner. They hate(d) Bush SOOOO bad, they couldn't allow themselves to be seen agreeing with him, so the importance of the WMDs had to be minimized. Now, any time a report comes out that demonstrates Iraq had WMD's, the lib press and politicians will talk about anything BUT that report.

The libs aren't completely stupid (ok, they are, but that's another topic) and they realize that to admit they were wrong will not only remove their mainstream base, but they will also loose face with the extreme lefties. Not a good thing with elections coming up, so all they have left to do is scream about bringing the troops home, blah blah blah to divert attention from the real issues.

I haven't heard of any report that proves the existence of WMD's in Iraq. Can you give a source or location for this report?

Iraq had a program that was interrupted by the embargo, what, 10 years befor the war. All stories I have heard is that the programs were dismantled and the WMD's were never fully developed. Again, if you have additional information please post it. They had plenty of convention weapons. The are still finding additional hidden stockpiles today. WMD's. no.

Pres. Bush, prior to the war, said that Saddam was a tyrant, and general all-around-evil person. He also said that this was not sufficient reason, in itself, to go to war. He said that if Iraq had a bad leader, that was their problem. But he said he couldn't stand by and let Iraq develop and use WMD's to attack other countries and that was his justification for the war.

Unless you can produce this report is sounds like you are the one who doesn't get it.

Everyone knows WMD's were not the reason to go to war, they were the excuse.. Bush wanted this war to prove he was a " war president".. the "decider" for oil and also to pay Sadaam back for his earlier slight to daddy. And by the way... the WMD report is just htat, another report..all those inspectors that were sent found nothing.. so how now has someone discovered them.. I think the cons will use any excuse to pretend that there was a good reason for 2500 deaths on the hands of this administration.

"And, more importantly, why do the libs always pretend that WMD's were the only reason given for a war in the middle east?"

What is the other reason? The 911 commission found no link between Saddam and Al Queda.

Dude ... how convenient of you to skip a few minor details.

For one, what was found were the *remains* of weapons programs that date to pre-first Gulf War, and it's not the first time such remnants had been found (if you care to read the UN's report on the WMD search).

Secondly, and this is kind of a big one ... Chemical and Biological weapons (or at least the agents that make them Chem/Bio) have a max shelf-life of (drum roll please) TWO WEEKS!

*Not* 15 years.

TWO WEEKS.

That's why Fox News' report doesn't prove anything that we didn't already know about Saddam's weapons program.

yet it really is not any longer the reality, it really is in simple terms more effective opinion. it doesn't remember who ok'd that report, in undeniable actuality that there became little or no doubt expressed through the CIA about those on the time. look on the Congressional records. human beings, you pick to maintain in mind that what that is is a transparent attempt to re-write heritage. that is 1984 Ministry of reality stuff.

The WHITE HOUSE, maybe you have heard of it, said that it's not the WMD they said they were talking about...

No one is debating that they once had them... obviously... but if they had the ones Bush said they had...

there have been various questions that discuss this issue

If you have a problem with the WHITE HOUSE... I suggest you take it up with them
