She's properly fed--rabbit pellets, veggies, hay, so I don't think anything's lacking in her diet. She loves to play with empty TP rolls, but usually she ends up chewing them all to bits and eating the cardboard. To me, she seems healthy enough, no signs of illness. I know that bunnies like to have items to chew on to keep their teeth worn down, yet why would she actually INGEST the cardboard? This can't be good, can it?
Thanks!

She doesn't like the wood thingies from the pet store, I've tried that.
And, she likes to bite stuff, not chew it, just take a bite out of it, electrical cords, the carpet, my sofa... that's what bunnies do.
BTW, rabbits are NOT rodents, they're in their own family of lagomorphs.

If she only gets cardboard once in a while (say once or twice a week) she should be OK.
It's not her diet, that seems fine.
She is having a good time with the TP rolls and eating it is just part of that. Try other toys. Nylabones, Ferret and bird toys are good. Try getting her a kids ball. You know, the soft plastic ones that come in swirly colors at Walmart. Offer wooden toys made for rabbits so they are safe. Get one of those tunnels they make for cats.
Also, if she doesn't go outside, grow her some of that cat grass and catnip, she'll love a pot of mint too.

Maybe she can't help it. Think how skinny a TP roll is. Most cardboard is not more then a few cm thick! Instead of carboard, try to give her a knawing log. (Make sure it is from a rabbit-safe tree, not posioness) This way, it will be harder for her to chew, and thus, less will end up in her mouth and stomache. : )

I wouldn`t generally say that is bad for the rabbit, but it definatley won`t help or give it nutrition. If possible you should either move the rabbit away from the cardboard or the cardboard from the rabbit

Im sorry but it has nothing to do with most of these answers. rabbits chew because their teeth never stop growing and they need to file them down or it can really hurt them. Give her more to chew on. P.S. some times it can also be boredem.

Rabbits chew on anything. They are like rats. It has nothing to do with what you feed them. They are annoying. Given him back and get yourself a Hermit Crab.

nah probably not good. Invest in little wood chips made for rabbits. They even come in flavors. Maybe she goes through the trouble of chewing it, so she just wants to swallows it.

they will eat anything that they chew up. My rabbit used to chew on power cords to things and eat the coating.

Because usually small animals like bunnies, hamsters, and etc. Need something to chew on to make their teeth sharper. You can purcase bunny chew toys at the pet stores. I have two bunnies myself.
