Graphic is normally the first slot on a custom PC! Some Motherboard makers might have something on the top slot! But The Graphic card slot will be a different color than the others! The Graphic card slot is slightly longer than the other slots!
The Sound card will use a PCI slot which is different from a graphic slot! You most likely going to have 3 or 4 PCI slots! You can put you sound card into it!

Sometimes if you purchased a cheap PC! it will have a built in sound and graphic. Hope this helps

Look for the plug that your monitor/screen wire goes into. the plug is a trapezoid with three rows of pins. look inside the computer to see what is on the other side of the plug. if it is connected to the main board (the motherboard), then you have the kind which is called on-board. otherwise, it will be a small board connected on its side to the motherboard.
