A ferret can be trained not to bite. I just adopted a biter a little over a month ago. He was roughly 4 months old and bit any time he could get a hold of human skin. I scruff him(grab him like his Momma would) and say loudly and sternly: NO BITE!! And put him back down. If he continues his behaviour it's time out in a little carrier I have for that reason. Only put him up a few minutes to calm down and don't put him in the cage. Cages are for rest and security, not punishment. If he starts listening praise him, praise him and praise him again, follow up with a treat. Mine still gets all wound up sometimes and that's when he has a hard time controlling himself. He bounces and jumps, "war dances", and tries to attack things that move. I usually use a toy to play with him then, to put some distance between my hand and his teeth. Use a paper towel core or a towel. I found a "Kitten Mitten" a glove with long dangly fingers that have pom poms at their ends with bells in them. We have fun and I wear him out so he's a little calmer. Just be strict with him. NO BITE!! Please don't physically punish him though. The only thing your ferret will learn if you hit him is that human hand = pain. And you won't gain anything from that.
I hope she won't make you get rid of it. Is she even interested in giving your fert a chance? Maybe she just doesn't like ferrets or is afraid of them and your weezil realizes that. They're smart you know. Good luck.

Your ferret doesn't know your step mother as well as you probably do. Ask your step mother to spend some time with you and your ferret, this can be when you feed it or just when your playing with it, after a while your ferret will get used to seeing her and will start to trust her too.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, a ferret is just like a cat or dog in the way that sometimes, they just don't like certain people. Maybe in time, it'll get accustomed to your step-mom, but until then, just keep them separated.

Your going to have to put it in a cage when your mom is around.
maybe you can ask your mom to try and befriend it while it is caged.
She can give it treats and talk nicely to it. Hopefully the ferret will learn to trust her.
Good Luck!

I have a sweet little ferret too. They are so nice & alot of fun, but they're also very intuitive. they can sense the way people around them feel? Is your stepmom scared of him or does she not like him, or do you not like your stepmom. They can sense if someones uncomfortable around them & they act defensive.when my husband & i are fighting, tazi knows it & he bites him.

is she unfriendly to it? Could be her perfume disturbs the ferret. They are very sensitive to smell.
