People are scared of things they don't understand, and "Hate" is the result.
If you or something you like is being hated, it is never the fault of the person or thing being hated... it is the fault of the person who is DOING the hating. THEY are uncomfortable.
You can apply this to anything in your life... music, people, lifestyles etc.

I love country music... country girl to the core! Unfortunately, people are under the misconception that all country music is sad and depressing... I liike to argue that lyrically, you could compare any song from any genre and find they are all talking about the same things, it's just the language that's used that makes it different (and I happen to like the fact that every other word in my music is not the "f" word). If people would sit down and actually listen to modern country, they might actually start to see the music's not so bad. My fiance was/is a hardcore die hard rock fan... but I've caught him singing along in the car or if it's on the tv or computer. Below are the lyrics to my favourite song to send out to all of the country music haters.
Lots of love all!

Country music will always be my favorite, but I do like other types of music too (Classic and 80's rock, 80's pop and metal, etc.) Someone will always say the don't like country and they are entitled to their opinion, but someone is buying country CDs. Check out Billboard.com... recently five of the top 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart (all types of music included, not just country) were country artists. (I think they were Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson and the Dixie Chicks).

I love county music too and personally think it is way above and beyond some of the other stuff blasted at us on the radio. So much of it, especially "rap", is so monotone. I guess that is what the kids go for now days.. but too bad they don't actually get to hear someone carry a tune.. I suppose that is old fashioned.. Oh well!

I love country music! Shania! People think it's cool to hate country music because teenagers these days like rap and r&b and they think country music is lame, but it's not!

It's not cool to hate it. I don't like it, but I respect other peoples love for country music. I wouldn.t be caught dead at Country Jam, but I don't make fun of those who would like to be there. It's all opinion.

I love country music. and the reason people dont like it is because you can actually understand wtf they're saying so thats why some people think they always sound whiney but i dont really care what others listen to as long as im not forced to like it or pretend like i like it
