Which generation Mercedes were the best.In my opinion it was the 1980's and 90's.Millenium Mercedes lost their reliability!I think the best Mercedes is the Mercedes S class 92-99!

The S class 92-99 is the W140 series. The Princess Di car. One of the finest as far as comfort, ride, etc. One of the worst as far as maintaince.
If you looking for reliability, look at the W-126 series.
Stick with the 70's and 80's

I'd say the E class. I like how the quality has come way up, and the price way down. A 1993 500E class would have cost you $107, 500. A 2003 E500 would have been just $80,000. This new E isn't as nice, or as cheap, but I still like it.

I always liked the 450SEL 73 to 1980. Very strong great ride. Sadly I had to sell mine as gas prices no longer made a car that gets 11 miles on the highway sense for me.
