Considering that about 75% of the questioners here are incapable of managing basic spelling and grammar, Yahoo Answers is a godsend. One might type illiterate terms into a search engine all day long without finding the answer. When the terms are posted here, there is at least a chance that someone with a bit more verbal acumen might decipher the query and provide a reasonable answer.

whats up Johnny - neither is the case. this may well be a question and answer website with stay human beings. this may well be a branch of yahoo's website. Yahoo is a seek engine for looking up advice. Google is a seek engine for looking up advice. you purely asked a question: Is Yahoo solutions the quest engine for the lazy? that query might desire to no longer be replied by utilising some pre-set answer. You mandatory stay solutions. Like what we are offering. So NO solutions isn't for the LAZY. It takes time to form questions and solutions. EVEN utilising a seek engine might desire to be seen lazy. THE old trend thank you to lookup advice IS to circulate to THE source .i.e. Library, city hall, college and not use a working laptop or workstation. What did one do back in the days earlier desktops?

It's okay to help them out. Some just may not know where to go or how to search without getting a bunch of worthless results. Of course, the source box can also be used to explain the keywords that could be used in a search to get the best results. That way the asker is more educated overall.
Of course, a lot of people are just on here to try it out. Some are too lazy, but it's best to give them the benefit of the doubt.

To add to some of the other points already made I also find that depending on where you are located in the world you may receive different responses to your request on a search engine. For example someone who lives in Hawaii may have trouble finding information on something in Canada that they are looking for on a SE. However someone in Canada who is on YA may be able to easily look it up for them and give them a link to the site that they need.

It gives amateur netizens an opportunity to provide the veterans with some mental exercise - by making them do the searches, for gaining another 2 points !

well, it was designed to help people with things they didn't know how to search for, but you are fight, it has made people lazy, they don't want to bother to search anymore, they just ask here.
trouble is, about 75 percent of the answers are not correct I have noticed, so can you depend on the answers, no

I believe Yahoo! Answers should let me charge a laziness fee for looking things up for people.

Maybe people want answers from other people rather than a computer. People have experience not computers.
