I don't exactly like using gay as a negative term. Why is it one?
Anyway, I don't think they should take away pts either. I mean, doesn't yahoo want people to go on this thing to ask and answer questions?
Oh, the more points you have the more privileges you get, like losing less points for asking a question. Is that even a privilege? Oh well, that's just some manipulative thing that motivates people to grab more pts. Wonder, does it work? I don't like it.

I dont.
Reason being that it cant be GAY that you lose 5 points for asking a question. Either you mean happy, or homosexual like in which case SURVEY SAYS you don't make any sense.

why ask questions you know the answer to,, also gay isnt a perjoritive term to some folks,, but as a put down its borderline report making ,,,use anothe term for bad, like, BAD ,,ive had a lot of friends that rode the hershey train to happyville and i dont think its fair to use that as a bad word,, like the n word or cracker its derogatory wise up

Not gay at all..... I have learned so much from this format that I can barely keep up. I think You are bold, brave, and will receive a LOT for respect for asking this. YOU deserve it. Your consideration shines through...it is refreshing. I am failrly new here and not always on.....many of my answers long-ish...some only a fair sentence...though all from my heart..as it would seem is yours.

Come on, be politically correct...I don't think that the points have a sexual preference, but to answer your question, it is just a game and who cares about the points?

I guess its safeguard so that you don't ask too many useless questions.
It also encourages others to participate in answering, and choosing the best answer.
So you only really lose 2 points every time you ask something. and you gain one just for logging in each day so its not too bad.
