You can goto Lowe's online site, and type in the tool you are searching for, and they will list all the available brands and types they carry.

Offhand, I'd say you're looking at anywhere from $20 to $100 depending on what it is you are looking for... for example, a cheap hammer, or a good quality one... a plastic speed square, or aluminum... same goes for tape measures. Tool Belts are fairly consistent, most are of a tough nylon weave or leather...you have to take into consideration how it is going to be used.

You can also hit the 'mass marketers', like WalMart, KMart, Sears etc. Sears has had a tradition of good tools, but you have to be careful of what you are getting now... not all the tools have lifetime warranties anymore.

Some good tool brand names... Stanley, Kobalt, Sears Craftsman (as opposed to just Sears)

Any local hardware store will carry Stanley products, as will most large chain stores... Kobalt is a Lowe's product, and usually has a lifetime warranty.

Have Fun!
