those are powerful words, but I think if they are over used by a person they lose some of there power. I have a friend who can't go a day without saying the words "I'm sorry" or "sorry".
I think it's better if it's only used when it should be used. When you really need to hear it.

The wordsorry is a very powerful word and the use of it determines your character. Actually I will only use "I'm sorry" when I truelly screwed up and i feel like a SORRY a s s and I could have controlled what went wrong.....however I will say "i apologize" when things got screwed up and it was not in my control to have things done correctly. Its funny you asked this question because I have chosen to analyzed the words I use and how they effect who I am. So, before you say "I AM SORRY" to someone, you have to think to yourself does that person deserve to hear you call yourself sorry or does that person deserve an apology.

There's power in simple things. I think most people never even consider how much words affect others - for the good or bad. How many know that one kind word can/has even saved someone's life.

Ego is the only thing in between saying sorry and not saying sorry. Ego prevents alot of things in this world. I'm sorry is an awesome soothing word and stops alot of unwanted problems in life, too bad it cant be used more often! I have no idea why either, it sure doesn't hurt huh? Only helps in my opinion.

It's suprising how the context of that word is used. In some ways saying the words "I am sorry" has a profound effect on someone but also the words "I am sorry" can have the opposet effect on another individual. It all depends on, how it's used, tone you use, and eye contact.

Words are only words. What good are they when you hear them from the same person all the time. You should never have to hear the word SORRY if your world is in good shape.

Under these circumstances:
1). If the person truly means it.
(Ex. Not heartfelt, empty and non-remorseful).
2). If they don't have to be used over and over.
(Ex. Gee, sorry I cheated on you with. Sorry I cheated with yet another person. Sorry I cheated with yet someone else).
3). If the reason they're used isn't something catastropic or life changing.
(Ex. Sorry I shot your parents).

I understand the power both on a personal level and in business context. Being able to apologize for your transgressions is very cleansing, and for the business context, being in customer service, apologizing to clients for problems is a good first step in rectifying the problem. It shows you are listening to their problem and are thinking about how to correct it.
