No I think it is an archaic tradition of backward People desiring to remain so. I believe marriage is something that should be decided between to people that have enough love to get them through. Marriage is tough enough in the busy world we are in today. A man & a women need to be like minded for this decision.
It takes a very high level of commitment, and trust to give it ago.

It depends on what you expect from marriage. An arranged marriage can be successful, if one approaches marriage as if it were a business venture...which, in a way, it is! But, if one is looking for romance, an arranged marriage would probably be a failure; but, then, even those who marry for love do not always find what they want.

Tell em that you need to find yourself before you could be a good marriage partner to anyone, arranged or otherwise. Ask if you could go off to college first and grow up a bit and then you might consider being matched up.

Negative pov? Well, in some cultures you don't even see them till the wedding. To think, you have to sleep with and next to a person you don't even know for the rest of your life. For some people that may be okay. But as modest as I am, NEVER happening. You have nothing in common, and most likely in those countries, they don't have divorce proceedings. The woman would die early in life from despair and loneliness if she didn't somehow emotionally connect with her "bed mate."
If this doesn't help, I'm sorry. That's just my ranting for now.

As long as it is arranged by the two people who are getting married it is fine. On the other hand it does keep the divorce courts busy.

No, it forces you into a marriage where you won't have time to fully meet the guy you're marrying. Y'all might not get along as well as when you get to decide who you're marrying. You should be able to control your own fate. You know yourself better than anyone on this earth. No one else knows who you're completely compatible with, but you.
