This may shock you, but Thomas Jefferson (yes... Thomas Jefferson) said: "I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature." That really shocked me! I just looked it up on BrainyQuotes.com

Actually, the quote I was looking for was something akin to: "if god cannot regulate morality, no government should try".

Europe is decidedly non-religious. Somehow, most Europeans seem to have fewer sexually-related problems than Americans. I don't pretend to know the answers, but I believe that old fashioned morality is not going to make a comeback any time soon.

In most parts of the world, sex is just cheap recreation. They don't associate sexual activity with any moral taboos. Now, I'm not saying that's a good thing. That is exactly how AIDS spread through Africa. Truckers would get a prostitute at every truck stop. Now the entire continent is paying the price.

I thought they were already running the country (into the ground).

Anyway, the govt has no effect on STDs so it won't matter.
