Why did you lie about your age anyway? If you are able to work there legally at age 15 then there shouldnt be a problem saying your true age. If you cant work there till you are 16, then you shouldve waited till you turned 16 to apply for the job. Either way, yes they will find out with back ground checks.

oh yes they can! Usually jobs do background checks and yes ur age will be exposed. I think it's awesome that you are trying to take on so much responsibility at 15. Some states only let you work under 16 if you have a family who is in need in other words poor, unfortunatley. But cross your fingers that this job doesn't do a background huh! If you need money then you should probably ask neighbors to do babysitting and stuff like that so you don;t have to worry about the application process.

You didn't mention if you were employed or had recently applied and were awaiting status of your application. As a Staffing Consultant, we verify the Social Security number of each applicant with the SS Administration office which provides age and employment history and verifies that the information is consistent with the information you provided on your application.

They could possibly find out at any time during your employment (someone making a big deal about your birthday and forgetting that you're not really as old as you said - any type of falsifying an application is immediate grounds for dismissal.

Well, don't sweat this, just call back and admit your error. You were only trying to "catch up" to your age on form,in hopes that you would have that job by your birthday in July..your anticipation to work when you can also "drive yourself legally" to work should count for something. They won't forget the "birthday" applicant person, anyway. If you do not drive up in a car,now then that will be embarrassing!!

Hi, yes they can determine your age, one set of digits in the ss code tells what year you were born in, I forgot which numbers they were. Also by checking you ss number in a computer database will tell everything there is to know about you that is part of public record such as your age. Good luck to you and have fun through you journey of employment

Yes they can find out because of your social security and your personal identification card. I would go back and tell them the truth or you will never get to work there when you do turn to the age that you are supposed to, to work there.

Yes. And lying on your application can get you fired: I saw that happen to a former manager, though the lie in question was about another matter.

Yes, they can. Because in order to put you on payroll (should they hire you), they will find out you are 15 and let you go immediately and will not make you eligible for re-hire through that company because you did lie on the application.
