my plan sounds alot like gotti's! i usually wander the aisles at random, dragging one of my kids, who has the job of holding my coupons! i usually end up getting everything i don't need and walk out forgetting what i intended to buy! i couldn't find a calculator in this house if my life depended on it! i try to end up adding in my head, but my mind wanders after 5 or more items. i hate grocery shopping! our store is over run with geriatrics who block the aisles and are deaf and cannot hear you say "excuse me" for the umpteenth time. i usually have to re-walk down the same aisle to get around them and ARUGHHHH, there they are again!! i need to go tomorrow too, maybe we can meet and tomorrow we can run all those people over with our carts!

I don't make list as such. I hate supermarkets and so have put together a dos and donts cheat sheet to help me. Top of my list would read...
1. Get up to go to the shops at a reasonable hour. DO NOT stay up all night on the computer and then lie in until all the shops are closed!
Next...
2. Be sure to go at the busiest times; listening to parents screaming at their screaming kids is a good way of relaxing and further enjoying the shopping experience!
3. Pushing people into chest freezers is frowned upon
4. Trolleys are not toys
5. Neither are old people!
6. Do not trust anyone with a calculator; they probably take that same calculator out to resteraunts when they go for meals with friends
That's my list; OK a list for you on your day off?
Pornography
Champagne
Strawberries
;)

I do, but don't know why I bother. I don't stick to it even when I manage to remember to bring the darn thing. I don't bring a calculator, that is strange. And I,m afraid I can't write you one, I,m too lazy to even write my own. My local grocery store delivers so maybe I'll just call and say "Bring food, mostly chocolate, here's the address."

I write out a grocery list because I hate when I forget to pick something up and I have to go back to the grocery store. I don't take a calculator, but that might not be a bad idea.

yeah, i write one or i won't remember. if you like to cook buy a couple of chicken breasts, a red pepper, a jalapeno, some green onions, garlic, fresh mint, rice and a good bottle of wine or some good beer. chop the breasts, slice the peppers and onions, mince about 6 cloves of garlic, put the rice on to cook, pour the wine or open a beer, and when the rice is about ready, put your pan on medium heat with a little olive oil. put in the chicken and stir until it's not opaque, add the garlic, peppers and onions along with some soy sauce, saute until just about done (3-4 mins) then add the mint at the last for about a minute. serve over rice and drink as much as you want. let me know when dinner will be ready and i'll bring dessert and after dinner drinks...

Oh jeezus no, not beyond the essentials that I might forget.
I have seen some people try to figure out the unit price of toilet paper and macaroni. Life is short, meander through the grocery store and have fun.

No. I just push the cart through each aisle.
If something looks good, I throw it in. I usually take three to four hundred bucks with me when I shop so I won't have to worry about the price thing.
I know I'm not being very sensible, but I don't care.

If you go grocery shopping when you are hungry you will not need a list. You will throw everything in the cart that looks good.
Which will be almot everthing.
If you need to stick to the list eat before you go shopping.
