If the market should regulate what is on the news... why are all the channels full of "liberal bias"... shouldn't the market regulate its self and kick these networks out?
I mean they are clearly making money or they wouldn't be on the air any more... are there that many liberals out there to keep up all the "bias media" that is out there?
If they weren't telling the truth, then no one would watch... if no one watches... then they will close down, since they can't opperate without money...
I just don't understand how such a huge bias can occur in a capitalist system?
Unless you think capitalism doesn't work? Are you all commies?

well... granted there are more sources for news
and more choices will clearly lead to a diversion of the market share to some degree... but overall...
CNN, still in business, CBS, NBC, ABC news... still in business... New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post...still in business...

everyone is talking about the evolution of the media... I know that is occuring, but that's not what the question is about...
Panacea...
I don't know one person that relies on only the radio and the internet? or even close? ... can you even attempt to cite that anywhere?

Panacea... I'll put it to you this way... you know money talks...
Go look at how much an ad will cost on national news radio... then go look at how much an ad costs on CNN... you will see who is more successful... BY FAR...

I actually completely disagree that the media is 'liberal'. I've seen too many highly controversial stories reported on PBS The Newshour that are never shown on network news.
I think the old saying 'liberal media' is just another way the rightwing is manipulating us. They WANT us to think that so that we don't believe the real stuff... like I said some of the stories I have seen on PBS news.
I wish ppl would wake up... not saying you.. but ppl in general and begin to think on their own and search for the whole, complete, real story on things.
BTW, loved your comment on my B. Laden question. Some ppl argue with the truth even when it is staring them in the face.
Also, capitalism has never worked throughout history for the exact reasons we are seeing develop now.

Umm.... have you seen their rateings lately. Do some research and compair how many households watch the nightly news compaired to 10 years ago 20 years ago 30 years ago.
The numbers speak for themselfs. The reason, more choices in media, radio, internet.
You can do the same thing with the newspapers. How many papers have gone right out of buisness. Most homes dont even get the paper. It was not that way 40 years ago.
Post the numbers and you will have again proven how capitalism works.

The only reason there is a so called "liberal bias" is because the Republicans have control of the Government. I am sure that the first Democratic President of the high speed information age will face the same amount of ridicule.

Ummm....it is. The revenues of all those means of news are way, way down and being replaced by Fox news and other alternative news, especially the internet.
Few people these days, get their news from the TV or newspaper because it has been tampered with. They rely on radio and the internet.

i don't believe of so; Republicans each now and then provide Democrats some credit. the in undemanding words way Fox information will be seen "honest and stability" is that that is attempting to stability all the liberal bias it thinks it sees in different newscasts through being very conservatively biased. I used to love gazing Fox information at the same time as Clinton became president; all of their pretend outrage over the littlest issues he did became hilarious. yet they grew to develop into scary at the same time as Bush received the presidency. It became like gazing Hitler's propaganda device.

the news networks all started out as conservatives...then cry babies got behind the wheel and tried to push their own view...then fox came along and kick everyone butt...they only make money from the average citizen because all cable companies do not offer a la carte menu...if i subscribe to cable it have to pay for all even though i want a few...i have been writting my congressman to try to have this changed...
biases occur when many of the same mindset work together or if the boss wants it...like in college...if you teacher is liberal you have to play to that side to get a good grade...if you don't say what they want you to say you get bad grades...

Actually, quite the opposite, as a liberal I'll be the first to say, almost all the news networks are quite "unbiased" and the few that are "Fox News" leans to the Republicans. Sorry, I wish it was the way you said :////

Bush Supporters don't like the free market. Who are the people out burning Harry Potter books, screaming Spongbob Squarepants is gay, trying to force pharmacies to stop dispensing birth control, and legislate what other people do in their bedrooms and listen to on their radios and download on their computers and watch on their TVs and do in their bedrooms?
Bush Supporters.

The liberals have got themselves in good positions, almost mind control. Even while watching non-media shows i practically get yelled at with liberalism.
