There's so much racism in the United States that it has actually been written into LAW. The racists named it 'affirmative action'. Oddly, many racists in the U.S. are submissive racists, that is, people that believe that they are in an inferior race, and thus selectively harm people of their own race, as opposed to the usual racism of believing that one is in a superior race. Such 'inferiority racism' is most common among whites.

Racism exists, but it's not an all-out war. There is racism from every group of people, whether they are White, Black, Middle Eastern, Asian, etc. I'm not saying that every person in the States is a racist, no. I'm saying that there are some racists in every group. It's so silly, but it happens.
This country has come a LONG way in the past 143 yrs, which is when the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Lincoln which freed the slaves. Every child here has access to education, regardless of their ethnicity. It's not ethnicity that creates good or bad education, it's money. In richer cities, the schools get more money because the cities get more in property taxes because there are more homeowners of beautiful houses/mansions who pay these property taxes. In poorer areas, more people rent, therefore the cities don't get as much in taxes, therefore the schools get less money. MONEY MAKES THE WORLD GO 'ROUND, bottom line.
Unfortunately, the KKK (a scourge to humanity, the boil on the butt of America) still exists. However, most people strongly disagree with them.
If you are not White, not Black, you would blend in very nicely here, since many people in the States are children of biracial or multiracial families. Actually, mixed babies are soooo beautiful!
As for Blacks being uneducated... there are uneducated Blacks, uneducated Whites, uneducated everything-else in this country. It's not one's ethnicity that determines their level of education, it's their own effort, regardless of ethnicity. There are Black doctors, judges, therapists, scientists, teachers, college professors, entertainers, authors, attorneys, producers, entrepreneurs, politicians, etc.

Yep, yep, yep, you heard exactly right. in my opinion the USA will always have racism. It like it never ends. Im Black and yes I have experienced racism especially since I live in Mississippi(one of the more racist states). I can first remember it when i was maybe 8 o rsomething this white man like rolled his eyes at me and why because I was black. It like some white people just cant except the fact that we are balck people. And as far as black people being uneducated that is a LIE!!! True some of our black people are uneducated but only because they dont have a like backbone of others to motivate them. in the city I live in schools are might as well still be segregated. Its like all the black kids go to the public school in the city and the white skids go to the academy across the highway. YOU MAY THINK THAT IM LYING BUT THERE WAS ONLY THREE 3 WHITE KIDS ATTENDING THE PUBLIC SCHOOL AND WHY BECAUSE THEY WERE POOR. the public school highschool graduates have a graduation and the academy has a graduation. why not jsut let there be one graduation for the whole city??? because there is racism!!! I have lived in it so long that it doesn't even bothe rme anymore. I just live the life I was given and forget about the racist way of the white community..

This subject came up in a newsgroup discussion on slavery. When I pointed out that slavery has existed throughout history and not just to the African peoples who went to America, and that in antiquity European slaves (in Europe) and other white ethnic groups (ie the Jews). as well as the biblical Hebrew slaves were treated just as badly as the Afro American and Native American people ... I was jumped on for being racist towards black people, and that America will never change whilst there is a "white supremist" government. I was horrified, and I was further horrified when I was told that this racism will last for another 400 years! They also accused National Geographic for perpetuating the myth that African people are stupid because they "only" show photos of tribal, rural or poor people. And that it was Africans who discovered America because apparently there was a tribe of black people living in the California area when the white people arrived there. I am white British living in the UK and the others in the newsgroup are black Americans living in various parts of the United States.

I think you need to read a book and get educated about the country first. This is the 21 century and yes there are some ignorant people that are still racist but for the most part, we have came a long way. IF you are so glad not to be in this country, when why ask about it. Just don' t come if you are so worried.

Well, if you believe the media, you are being seriously misled. In my part of the country, there is some slight racism and it isn't just the whites despising the blacks, its the other way around too. There is also some mild racism between blacks and hispanics, hispanics and whites, blah blah blah. Mostly we are all hard working folks trying to raise our kids morally right and in a safe environment.

Racism exist in any/every culture (not just the USA), I don't see a race war here, I do suspect there may be a religious war if things keep up. But even that is pretty slim.

In central Ohio, unfortunately there is a lot. I don't think it's to the extent of the country cracking down, that's all on the government and Bush regime. As long as you surround yourself with people with non-racist views it's okay. If someone says something offensive I will explain I won't listen to it and leave. I don't have to apologize for their being an assh0le.

dude - rumors are just like that- if u listen to them, i can tell u i heard the same about france as well.
there are always going to be some bad guys who hate people on the basis of something - sometimes it is race, sometimes sex, sometimes which school you went to and who your daddy knows and such stuff.
there's no more racism in usa than there's in france or in any part of europe.
if u have heard of war or the govt. taking action - you must have dreamt it...
