Larry Ellison (Founder of Oracle, do a search)........
He dropped out of college and became a part-time park ranger. He came across a tech trade journal which had an article about database technology that IBM created but weren't interested in useing becuz they didn't think anyone would buy it. He licenced that software and created a compnay which became Oracle. He is now worth $15 billion. What I like most about him is his passion for life. He bought a boat and hired a team just becuz he wanted to win aworld cup. He also got his private pilots license and was rumored to fly a sesna underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. He also tried to import a Russian Mig Fighter but U.S. Customs wouldn't allow it.
I respect this guy becuz he doesn't let anything stand in his way. He is a genuine rags-to-riches story, he went from college drop-out to billionaire due to his persistance and assertiveness. His story is nothing short of inspiring in my opinion.

Andrew McMahon, of Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin (bands). About a year ago he was diagnosed with some form of leukemia, just as he was about to go on tour. They caught it early and through personal strength and much support from fans, he recovered and played his first show in December. I admire him because he's an amazingly talented songwriter who proved himself to also be a strong person.

Mother Theresa. Granted I'm not Catholic but you gotta respect
a woman who would tend to lepers when everyone else ( this
includes me sadly) would run like hell.
