I think if more pitchers threw to him like J.J. Putz of Seattle, Bonds would retire in frustration and we won't have to worry about his record.

Apparently Bonds has not taken steroids since the new policy went into effect. Before that it was legal, so the record is legitimate. Babe Ruth did not take drugs as far as we know, but he did drink excessively. So did Mickey Mantle. Not exactly the role models you think they are, but their records are clean, too.

I don't like Bonds because of his attitude, but I didn't like Pete Rose either, and Rose's records are also clean despite his gambling. (Much as I despise him, Rose should be in the Hall of Fame.)

NO! Bonds never tested positive for any drug. It is said that Ruth drank a lot of alcohol and alcohol is a drug, So maybe they should take away all of Ruth's records.
There has been more pitchers then hitters test positive for steroids, so with all the pitchers testing positive maybe they should add a lot more homeruns to Bonds record.

yes he should keep it, barry probably did take steroids. but when your talking about the GAME of unfair advantages, nothings fair anyways. bonds faced pitchers who took steroids, even before he did. aaron played in a park that was more home run friendly then the ones barrys played in. at hanks time as well as ruths, special pitchers like relievers were not regularly used so that gives them another advantage. in the end you just have 2 say that all the advantages and disadvantages cancel out.

When (if) he was taking the drugs, they'd;
a) not been banned for most of that time and b) he's never been caught.
If the MLB, NFL & NBA had ever been serious about performance enhancing drugs, they'd have dealt with it years ago.
With all the pressures on young athletes & the $$$$ involved, it is up to the sports governing body to protect their players!

He should keep his Home run record.

It seems strange that Bonds started to get these acusations as it became obvious Babe Ruth's total was in danger of being beaten AGAIN.

Didn't Hank Aaron suffer even worse abuse (Racism) when he beat Ruth's record.

It seems to me that the USA is inherantly racist and that is where the Bond's "Problem" stems from.

There is no way to go back and erase the records, but I do feel there should be an asterisk next to all records set the last ten years. Also, lifetime bans from the hall of fame should be handed out.

I do believe that he used Beef Roids, but I think that is has to be proven before you take any record away from him. That being said, since he obviosly was not using early in his career, you can't take away all of his homers. Just take away the one season that he hit 73, and that will keep his career numbers below Ruth, and Aaron. If he even passes Aaron, which I don't think he will.

Well first it has to be proved that he did use drugs.If it is proved then I think they should treat him just like they treated Pete Rose with the gambling.His records are still out there somewhere but he has nothing to do with baseball.Steroids can help a player in certain ways but they don't make you a good player but he should still be punished because he is cheating.That reminds me so much of Pete Rose because him gambling didn't make him a good player but he deserves to be kicked out because he hurt baseball.

No, I think you have to draw the line somewhere, how do we know that he hasn't been hitting all the homeruns off pitchers that used performance enhancing drugs? If he HAS been using them, then im VERY sure he's not the only one, (besides the guys that have already been caught)

no because he has not tested positive for drugs so it is only speculation and who knows, maybe Babe did use drugs. There is no way of knowing that now.
