As simple as it sounds, this seems to be a loaded question because it could be interpreted in several different ways.
If the question was, "Do you support our troops in Iraq?", my answer would be; absolutely, yes. If the question was "Would you have supported our war in Iraq before it was begun?", my answer would have to be no. If the question was, "Do you support funding wars with taxpayer's money in which the primary mission is either to A. oust a dictator or B. spread democracy?", I would feel pressed to say no. There are homeland concerns that, I feel, need to be addressed first before we open ourselves to this type of international involvement.
I support handing the situation in Iraq over to the newly formed government, so that we may consider there to be an END to our war in Iraq.

I'm in full support of squashing anyone who seriously wants to end my way of life. Actually the terrorists/insurgents want to kill Americans. That is what they live for. So I say we kill them first. Anyone who doesn't understand this is unwise. Nobody wants to go to war but sometimes it's unavoidable. Like right now for example. We are there to do a job and it would be best if we completed it. If we don't finish it now then it will be more of a problem later on. I don't want to have to see us go back and do this again. Iraq's new government, like it or not they have one, needs the world community's support right now. If we leave them high and dry right now the insurgents will overthrow the Iraqi government and then you can only imagine the chaos that would happen. People need to be realistic and understand that regardless of how we got to this point, we still have an obligation to finish what we started.
Thanks Mesquite Gal. Why doesn't the media report this kind of crap. I'm so sick of the F'n media. They don't even know what responsible journalism is anymore.
Hairy E why don't you go to Iraq get captured and then wait to be beheaded.

The war in Iraq is another Vietnam without any definite resolution. Vietnam began after World War II and ended in the 1970s but the Middle-East has been bubbling since the 1940s and is still perking in Iran, Iraq, and with the Palestinians. Maybe it is time to pick up our chips and go home.

All polotics asside, we should support our troops. Some of my best friends just returned from there tour of duty. It was rough for them. Some of them had to watch others die from roadside bomb attacks. One of them got torn up pretty bad and lived. When you ask him if it was worth it he will look you in the eye and say that after the blast, he tried to get up but could only role over on his injured back. Then a small child crawled out from under him completley unharmed. He had probably saved that kids life just by standing in the right place at the right time. The media doesn't show the schools and hospitals that our troops are re-building from terrist bombings. It doesn't show our troops giving there last field ration to poor hungry mothers and kids. Nope....because the negative stuff gets more ratings. Do I agree with why we are there after the fact....no. Do I agree with what we are doing now that we are there........Damn right. I had a few friends that didn't make it back. But I can tell you this. They believed in what they were doing....and would probably do it again.

You bet. I spent 8 years in the United States Marine Corps and I still have alot of friends on active duty. You can't not support what we are doing there after you have spoken with men and women who have been there and seen the positive changes that freedom makes in the lives of formerly oppressed and abused people. And if you think that Iraq did not have WMD you are clueless and ignorant. He has used them. Duuuhhh.

I do and even though it sucks, the people here in the US do not realize how lucky we are that we do not have Bombs going off in the streets here daily. If someone is coming at you with a knife, and you have a gun, are you going to wait for them to cross the room and stab you, or are you going to shoot them first? Most people do not understand that concept, It sucks that we are there, but better there than here.... I am glad I do not have to worry that my family could be blown up at restaurant, market, church or public gathering, which can pretty much happen in most countries. War sucks, but there are many out there that want to have it like 9 11 everyday in America, We must not and can not allow that to happen.

First, let me say "thank you" to Bronwyn for your service to our country....
In regards to your answer..."I do...we are doing a good job there...unfortunately, the media does not support our troops."
I believe our troops are doing an outstanding job, and I apologize for all the negative comments...
Thank God for a president that stood up to the terrorists, and took the war to them, instead of waiting for another 9/11. If Clinton had done his job, there may not have been a 9/11.
Check out what Clinton and other Democrats said in 1998...
(Please note the first five entries were made PRIOR to President Bush becoming our president.... and then, we have Hiliary's entry!)
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998.
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.
"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998.
"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998
"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998.
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002
Yes, I support the war, our troops, and I support our President

It has become a quagmire from which we are going to have a hell of a time getting out of, just like Viet Nam was. We can't "win" against these insurgents in any permanent sort of way. On the other hand, the Bushies can't afford to "lose." So we're gonna be stuck there for years. The wisest thing to do would be to withdraw asap.
