Less than 3 movies a year. Matinees run about $5-$6, and anything after 5pm is like $7.50-$10.00.

When I was in my early twenties I was going once or twice a week.
Now (at age 37),I went once last year.I just had to see the last Star Wars movie on the big screen. And the ticket was 10 or 12 dollars (I forget) for a matinee, with almost $3 for a soda.
There are few movies out that interest me,and paying almost $20 per person, they aren't worth it.
So I watch movies on dvd now instead.

they just don't make very many good flicks any more....but "Pride & Prejudice" with K. Knightley was superb...
We usually pay $5 for matinee shows..
My wife & I prefer old B & W classics such as:
Bringing up Baby
My favorite wife ... both with Cary Grant
Adam's Rib
Father of the Bride
Woman of the year ... all with Spencer Tracy
Harvey
Philedelphia Story (excuse my misspelling)
or anything with James Stewart
Casablanca
African Queen
Key Largo
or anything with Bogart

It depends on the show itself..
In certain years, there'll be a lot of best movies or perhaps the ones that in my must-to-do list. But, in other years, there'll be vice versa, or perhaps, not suitable with my interests, or maybe too strereotype.
In average, 12. Some of them I do watched them twice and even trice. Hehehe... In Malaysia, the normal price would be RM10, its about USD2.50. But, the special price would be RM6 on the "Movie Day", about USD1.50..
