It is not genetic. What it is is how the man's cultural or social upbringing teaches him to believe about women. Different cultures and groups simply view men and women differently. An interesting thing to look into is the difference between sex and gender. Sex is the biological differences that describe men and women. For example, a male is male because of certain naatomy and physiology and the same is true for women. Gender on the other hand is a socially dictated phenomenon. What I mean by that is that each culture has its own views on "what a man is" and "what a woman is". I'm sure you have heard somewhere along the line someone say "Oh that's a woman's job, why would a man do it?" Or how about hearing someone suggest that certain jobs are better suited for a man?

I hope that explains things a little better for you. A good resource if you want to look into it any further is a university/ college anthropology department or anthropology/ sociology related books.

Or...Are women raised to believe they are inferior, or is that genetic? so which is it? I think it doesn't really matter, if your personality type (nurture or nature) is to be submissive whether you are a male or female, that is what you will be until you make the decision to change that for yourself. I say, if you feel like "wearing the pants" then do it, just find a guy that is OK with that, and you will both be happy.

It's very subtle these days, but we're ALL raised to believe it, whether we're male or female. The biological differences mean that men are physically stronger, but there is STILL the myth out there that women are irrational and too emotional to be trusted with certain things. The US is actually ahead of some countries and cultures (look up something about women in Saudi Arabia, for example), but there's still a long way to go for women to truly be viewed as equals in American society.

maybe some men are raised to think women are inferior. I have met a few men who think along those lines--though not many--at least not many who would say it. There are women out there who think men are inferior. It seems to be a societal issue and depending on where you are from, how you are raised, how your life is lived, perspectives vary....and each man and woman will think--hopefully independent of others, differently from one another.

raised that way. some cultures see women as stong and we prove it when we want to. But women also know they can play the weaker sex card and get pampered. So it is not just a guy learning from men. How many times in the rain did a woman say I can't go out for Milk I just got my hair done.

This is not genetic because many cultures such as the Iriquos (unsure of spelling) indians had the women as there most important people. The were in chsrge of all law, money and trading, while the men took care of hunting and fighting. I feel this is proof in itself that man has not always seen hmself as being better than women.

women are not inferior, nor do men believe that. you need to get some better sources of info about men, or a clue would be better.

Feelings of superiority and inferiority are created by the surrounding environment.

its just preconceived acceptance ....like women are physiacally weaker ? big muscles dont mean strong i work as a bouncer and i weigh in at 140lbs i get great satisfaction out of throwing out 250lbs+ guys its very degrading for smaller to beat bigger.. i train women for free style martial arts competitions and they generally make mince meat out of most of the male competitors why? cos they are generally more determined and dedicated to competing its not genetics
