I have been married for 2 years and my wife refuses to have any sexual contact during her period (foreplay, kissing, etc included). Just wondering what others usually do.

When a woman is having her period she often feels tired, bloated and has cramps. This is not the best conditions for having sex since you feel terrible and it might be painful. That is not the case for all women. There are some women who enjoy having sex during their period because they worry less about becoming pregnant. That is not necessarily true so you should still use caution and maintain use of contraceptives. Your wife should enjoy being cuddled and kissed regardless of her period. It makes me wonder if she doesn't want contact because she feels you might try to pressure her into having intercourse or performing oral sex on you. If she enjoys giving you oral sex you could suggest that while she performs oral sex you could bring her to climax with clitoral stimulation with a sexual toy or your fingers. The first day or two she might not be interested regardless of the best circumstance since it is uncomfortable and very messy. Let her know you will not be grossed out by the mess and suggest it for day three or four instead.

I have been with my husband for 5 years. When we first were together we would have sex while I was on my period. but then after a while he wouldn't. We kiss and I usually give him pleasure and he'll help me as much as he can without touching me "down there". It is kind of gross to have sex while a girl is on her period especially if its heavy. If we do end up having sex we usually get a dark colored towel and fold it in so it just fits under me, this way the sheets don't get dirty and we both get completely undressed so as to not get dirty. because sometimes when you're doing other things things lead to things. but you should probably be greatful she doesn't want to because it is pretty messy and a hassle. I think everyone can wait at least 5 days with no contact.

Guess you got the whole range of answers. I would like to have sex during my period as I am more sensitive then, but my husband agrees with those of you that say it is gross. He still comes on to me though so he can have oral. I know some people who do it during this time in the shower and others who feel so bloated, crampy and dirty that they do not want any touching or feel that it is unfair to get them wanting it and not satisfy them. Personally, I always need the kissing etc., but you have to learn to respect the feelings of your wife and her boundaries that are within reason - which this one sounds to be.

It is possible to have sex with no mess. In fact, you will not even know if she is on her period. In fact most women are more sensitive during this time.
On heavy days I would hold my legs closed tight and he would penetrate the space between my legs, not intercourse. Or leave the tampon in place, it will be pushed up inside the vagina and continue to hold back the flow. Your wife will have to dig a little to find the string, but she will find it. Or, on light days i would use a product named "Instead". It works like a diaphram, cups the cervex and holds back the flow. You will never know it is "that time". I have even received oral sex and my b/f had no clue.

I think i depends on her flow if it is heavy then no it just makes a mess. If it is light them i would say it is okay. My husband and i do it all the time. I just think the first few days a woman just feels like S*** and she feels dirty. But after the first 2 days it should be fine. Let her know that is it okay and you don't mind. Put a towel on the bed, and or wear a condom. A lot of woman say it helps with the cramping.
Good Luck

I am overly horny when it is that time of the month, so I have no problems having sex during that time. I have had more men be turned off by sex at that time than that would enjoy it. Ask your wife why a shower together would not be out of the question? I mean it does all wash off.

I never cared for it but my husband didn't seem to mind. Honestly though, it doesn't matter what any of us like. It is all up to her. If she says that she doesn't want to, then that is it. Maybe you could talk to her and see if she can tell you why she doesn't want to. Maybe she doesn't feel comfortable but it could be that she is worried about odor or the mess or worried that you wouldn't really like it. If she doesn't want the kissing and stuff, try talking to her instead. We do like to have someone willing to just talk. You never know. Talking to her first might make her feel better and she will decide to try it. Maybe you should explain why you want to do it when she is on her period.

It is different for different women. Sometimes we are just really sore all over and sex is the last thing on our mind. Sometimes it is the eeew factor. Ask her about it. Maybe she can explain her reasons and there may be a way to work around it.

You're not only bleeding when you have your period. You are bloated, nauseated, crabby, your back hurts, you have cramps, etc.. And ya to top it all off, you are bleeding!! Would you want to have sexual contact if you felt like that? You men just don't understand anything.
