Usually 2 or 3 fertilized eggs are implanted during IVF in the hopes that 1 will take hold. Often two and less oftern all 3 embryos take hold.

Twins are not intended via IVF, but they are often a side-effect. It is also more common for women in the mid-30s to have twins because the eggs are being release more often.

That said, as cute as twins are, they are a high-risk pregnancy. Twin pregnancies can endanger both the mother and babies so the pregnancy requires extra care and monitoring. They are also more expensive and a lot more work than singletons.

If you have a 6 month-old daughter, you obviously are fertile and don't need the additional hormones and stress IVF adds to a couple's life. There can also be long-term health effects for the mother due to synthetic hormone exposure.

Science has come a long way in developing treatments for infertility, but it is important to remember that, no matter how they are conceived, having a baby is not like ordering out for pizza. You get what you are given and love what you have. If twins are in the cards for you it will happen, if it is not, I am sure you will have a lovely, happy family anyway.

Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

yes, IVF has the POSSIBILITY of multiples. they usually harvest your eggs and then fertilize the healthy ones. they do implant on UP 2 eggs for healthy people... but, it doesn't guarantee that you will get twins. even if they plant two into the uterine lining it doesn't guarantee anything. the procedure itself does end up costing roughly $10,000 for one months cycle. it seems like a steep amount to pay if you have no problems getting pregnant for a CHANCE, but no guarantee of getting multiples. count your blessings and have healthy babies the old fashioned way if you can.... for those of us that have to use these types of procedure... your reasoning sounds silly.
