A cleaner store would be nice. It is the only locally owned family business left in town, but the look on the inside makes me scared to buy fresh meat or produce. I usually shop elsewhere, but would like to support locally owned businesses. It would definitely up their profit if people could walk into a clean looking store.

I'd like to see people not coming in 5 minutes before closing and making ludicrous demands on the help. Of course, since I work in the local grocery store, maybe my answer is a little biased.

Nestle Good Start infant formula!! They have to special order it and then they keep it behind the customer service desk and give it away to anyone that asks for it so then when I go in to get it there isn't any left, then I have to drive 20 minutes to go get formula. At least they could order more of it at a time so it would last longer!!

Personally Id prefer the return of individual meat markets. Produce stores ect.
That won't happen in the US so I want people to carry out groceries like they used to.

Products from local suppliers/growers/bakers/ etc.....
Tie in the other business in the community into your store and you bring in more traffic than the big box chain stores that offer the same crap no matter where you are.

We've got alcohol in grocery stores here (Atlanta), but they won't sell it to you on Sunday. I say. let us buy a bottle of wine on Sundays, fer cryin' out loud.

truth in advertising... if you say you have the freshest produce when i go to pick up the bananas they shouldnt all be GREEN, the apples shouldnt be soft and those teeny fruit flies are a bad sign.
