I got streach marks the end of my 8th month. I use tons of lotion and baby oil. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what they are going to look like after pregnancy... Do they look darker? How long does it take for them to start to fade? Really curious...

Sorry, they happen to most of us at some point during pregnancy. It is all about what skin type we have. Those of us who have a softer texture to our skin usually get stretch marks and not just a few. I, myself, look like I've been in a fight with Freddie Kruger and lost. The only consolation is that they do fade in color. They turn from the dark purple/red to a pale silverish color. That is if you are lighter in skin tone.

Switch to cocobutter or vitamin E oil. They look awful at first, purple and deep. Lose the weight at a decent pace and keep up the lotioning every day. They fade after about 4-8 months and then they will be fine white lines. Nothing I know of will get rid of them forever, but since you have a child, no reasonable man will even notice them. One guy thought mine were actually sexy because I got them having a child. Congratulations and best wishes!!

Stretch marks will fade with time, it really depends on the person when you are asking how long.

Vitamin E lotions and Aloe lotions should help.

Also, believe it or not, some people have found wearing some form of corsets to help.

They will still be noticeable but there are several steps you can do to help the appearance. 1. Research the skin care system of Arbonne International (www.arbonne.com) **The skin products that Arbonne makes are wonderful. 2. Go to www.webmd.com or the National Library of Medicine's Website and research stretch marks. Generally, the information found on the National Library's Website is very informative.

It depends on your skin type as to the color of your stretch marks.
Everyone's skin type differs. Check out Arbonne and the other websites for detailed information.

I'm not much help, but hopefully you can find all the information needed with the sources I have provided.

I've heard Palmer's Cocoa Butter is really well known for fading stretch marks. I have seen red stretch marks and I have seen white ones. They will be much smaller since the skin is stretched out now. Keep up with the cream...and enjoy that baby.

After birth the stretch marks will fade. Use coco butter it will help fade them more. Coco butter will fade them and help when you have another child.

I have stretch marks from all 3 kids, withmy last daughter I had bright red streaks down my stomach, i used coco butter and they faded.

One thing to do is if you are going to be in the sun, use sun block. The sun will increase them and make them darker.

Will they ever go away?
The good news is that stretch marks usually become considerably less noticeable about six to 12 months after childbirth. The pigmentation in them fades and they generally become lighter than the surrounding skin (the color will vary depending on your skin color), but their texture will remain the same.

I have mine from my first pregnancy...they fade, but they never trully go away. Mine were pretty well faded at the best after about a year. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing you can do to get rid of them afterwards. Just continue to use things like vitamin E and cocoa butter.

i had my little girl almost two years ago now. I can hardly see my stretch marks unless i stretch my skin out to see what they look like. I found that the more skin treatments i used the worst that they got. But there is a product called bio oil its meant to be really good. i havent tried it but i always see it advertised on tv. Also it depends on how your own body deals with the stretch marks as well. As i said i have almost had my little girls two years ago and i can hardly see mine. just depends on the individual i guess
