Probablly not a new one, but older A6s can be good cars. Since they are imports, parts and service can be higher, so you may try to look for a certified pre owned model. My favorite A6 was actually the 1993 S4 (based on what was then the A6) with an inline 5 turbo and the quattro all wheel drive. If an A6 is too much money for your budget, the VW Passat is essentially the same car and is worth a look. I am a teacher as well, and my eyes are on the A3 or A4, though I have a VW Golf now.

First off, it depends on how much you make. The Audi A6 is a very nice vehicle and it does retail at a high price for a teacher (making I would guess $30,XXX a year). So I would purchase a pre-owned A6 from your CERTIFIED audi dealership. The car would be very nice. If you are looking for the current model I would wait a few years so the vehicle can depreciate more and then purchase one!

Sure.
First, especially if you're young, DON'T LEASE A CAR. Buy something you can afford and pay it off. You have the trade in value at the end of that time, or you can drive it into the ground and have several years with no payments. Leasing will just keep you in debt.
Second, I had a 2002 S4, and Audis have numerous issues, particularly electrical. They're nice, luxurious, and fun to drive, but don't get one without a warranty.
So, given salary restrictions, that pretty much leaves CPO (certified pre-owned). These cars will be cheaper, but still come with a warranty - http://www.audiusa.com/certified_warranty/0,5778,120,00.html. You can search the nationwide inventory of cars online - http://www.audiusa.com/certified_cpo_search/0,3024,200,00.html. I did a quick search in my area, and found several A6s with the 2.7T engine (the midrange model) in the low $30Ks.
Without knowing your salary, I can't guess what you'd like to pay a month, but you can also search by payment. Try to find a 3.0 A6 (the entry level engine). Also, contact your local dealer - they'll have a more up to date listing of CPO cars available.

YES U CAN!!! 2 years ago I bought a used Audi A6 from a BMW dealer and my payments were at $200 a month and i only put 2 k down. i bought a 2001 audi A6 with 60,000 for $13,000 and it had all the options and still looked new. So the answer is yes u can. Jus look for a preowned car. better deal cause cars depreciate.

If you're talking about a 2005-2006 A6, the answer is realistically, no.
Consider a lease of a lower end model like the A4 as Harry mentioned, or perhaps and older A6 with high mileage.
It's always fun to dream, but some things are out of our reach - temporarily. My current dream car is a MB CLS, and I've considered all kinds of ways to justify the expense. I just can't make it work, and if I did I'd be miserable just making the payments that I'd miss out on all kinds of other stuff like nice dinners, vacations... and since you'll have a lot of down time during the summer, you'll have more money to play with versus spending it all on your car.

Get an A4 that is a few years old. They're generally very well taken care of, the price is much more reasonable, and the 2000 and up models look gorgeous, almost like a 7/8 scale A6.

leaseing is about $450 to 500 a month with $3000 + at signing for a 2006 A6 3.2. you may get a lower monthly payment in 24 or 27 months terms. sometime dealer will push the year end and floor model out for less. Also buying or leaseing a car around year end you may get a good deal too. Other option is get a certified pre-own (USE CAR)

I am a patient financial representative and resolution specialist at a major heart hospital, and my husband is an industrial laser engineer and alone, neither of us can afford an Audi A-6 brand new. Even together it would be a very extravagant expense.
I think teachers have been around kids too much because they really tend to get whiny and selfish.

New?? purchase?
lets see
45000 dollar car with 5% down + taxes and fees of about 3600.00 means..
come to the table with about 6000.00 down and in fees
and have payment of 840.00 a month, whichmenas you need to be making over 50k a year to even consider it.. so i doubt it
a new a4 will run you about 200 month less-650.00
a new a3 ( nice car as well) 480.00
try certified pre owned with a warrenty much better deal!!
check out audi.com click on audi 6 and then they have estimate your payment section
