Gary Bettman is the dumbest commissioner is all of sports. He could have prevented the lockout last season. He could have prevented good hockey cities from losing their teams (Quebec, Winnipeg, Hartford) from losing their teams due to bad management. All Bettman does is disorient the fans from the game. Games on OLN? Who gets OLN on TV? Hockey fans couldn't see any games on TV until NBC showed the finals and their token Saturday afternoon matinees. We won't be seeing hockey for a few more years as long as OLN and Bettman have a contract together. The NHL will never be a major sports league until Bettman resigns.

How can anyobdy that watced that brilliant game think that the Oilers "threw" the game? The last 10 minutes were end to end with Ward having to make a number of great saves t okeep the Canes ahead.

Sometimes the better team wins - and throughout the whole season the canes were the better team. Remember the oilers were an 8 seed that was playing without its starting goalie.

After presiding over a lockout that wiped out an entire season (the only time that has happened in any of the four major pro sports) the last thing Bettman needs is a fixing scandal that would ruin his career and the reputation of the league. Sorry but Carolina was the better team.

The oilers didn't throw the game. Carolina came out hitting hard and playing flawless. It was a great game 7. Edmonton could've come back in the 3rd when Carolina tired out. Edmonton was easily the fastest team, Carolina just found out how to slow them down

He didn't pay the Oilers, he paid the Refs to not call the defence man on the Hurricanes for shooting the puck out of his own zone with 1:30 left on the clock. How dumb was that!! What a cheap friggin way to go out. I swear someone was putting the pressure on the refs during these finals... the hurricanes, the commissioner, someone tough *** betting guys who knows, but the Oilers got the sh*t deal.

that's a joke if you think bettman paid the oilers to blow game 7. it's been 17 years since they've been to a cup finals, why would they throw it away. and candians take hockey way to serious to just throw away a championship. so i'm gonna have to say nothing

Gary Bettman is too much of an idiot to ever think of something like that. Plus he wasted all of his money getting the player's union to kiss his ***.
