Evolution is a *fact*. It is not a theory. The theory part of evolution is related to the *mechanism* of evolution. The best known theory of evolution is Charles Darwin's, which is called natural selection, or "survival of the fittest." It is his explanation on how evolution can occur. This theory may or may not be true (and it most likely is because it makes a whole heck of a lot of sense), but it does not make evolution itself impossible if that particular theory didn't pan out.
People don't want to "believe" in evolution because they feel it is contradicting their particular religious beliefs, which, by the way, is just silly. Another reason could be that it is difficult for us to comprehend things that happen over a long period of time, like a small stream that has carved out an entire valley. Evolution of living organisms takes a really really *long* time. It doesn't happen overnight.

Evolution can only be a theory since fact requires that something can be repeated, studied, and retested against a standard. Since it is in the past, it can not be retested. Therefore it remains a theory, just as does any other attempt to explain it.
People will believe or not believe many things. Why? Because they like to. People still firmly believe they can catch a cold by going outside with wet hair no matter how much FACT has been studied, and restudied to disprove that.
I think you need to go back a review some things before you make some statements. I am not argueing for or against evolution, but theroy does not equal fact. A theory is an educated guess, one made after study of a subject. Then there is research carried out to test and prove if it is fact or not. Simply look up the word theory in the dictionary and see what you come up with.
he·o·ry Audio pronunciation of "theory" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (th-r, thîr)
n. pl. the·o·ries
1. A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.
2. The branch of a science or art consisting of its explanatory statements, accepted principles, and methods of analysis, as opposed to practice: a fine musician who had never studied theory.
3. A set of theorems that constitute a systematic view of a branch of mathematics.
4. Abstract reasoning; speculation: a decision based on experience rather than theory.
5. A belief or principle that guides action or assists comprehension or judgment: staked out the house on the theory that criminals usually return to the scene of the crime.
6. An assumption based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture.
A theory can be a guess used to explain facts that have been tested, but it is still a guess, and educated one at best. If you are going to argue for or against something, it is better to learn to use your words properly first or you end up looking perhaps not so knowledgeable as you might like to appear.
Evolution is a very widely accepted theory in the scientific community, but it still remains a theory. There is no way to test, observe, repeat, and measure it. Just like there is no way to definitively say why the Mayan Indian civilizations died out. No matter how much they study and uncover, it is still theories.

Because, the people that believe in evolution are just trying to take away God's glory, and say that everything just fell together perfectly. Think of all the cells, nerves, and everything in just one part of your body, that makes that part work. Do you think it all just fell together perfectly by itself, or do you think that it was designed that way? Of course, it was designed.
By the way, I do believe in evolution. Everything evolves, but not the way the evolutionists say it does. For example, when Noah first brought the animals on the ark there probably wasn't nearly as many species of dogs as there are now. In fact, dogs are still "evolving" when they create new breeds. So there is such thing as "evoulution", just not the same as the atheist evulutionists believe.

Because it is not scientifically proven and Darwin (creator of the idea) admitted that he made it all up a few days before he died. And there are many Christians in the world who believe in God as their creator. Plus if evolution is true why do people not evolve from monkey's still?

Evolution is like an explosion in a print factory and all the letters there fell back into place to form a 5000 page dictionary with no errors.

Maybe questioning things and thinking for yourself is too much effort... They prefer someone to tell them what to believe without any logic, even though there are so many facts.

Because evolution defies what they believe in their religion. If there are two contrasting beliefs, one would have to take sides. They can't believe in both.
