no, there isnt enough light or UV rays emitted from it. The only safe way to tan (its cheap too) is to purchase a self-tanner. Jergens just came out with a product thats a skin lotion that builds a gradual tan, and loreal has a no-streak self-bronzer.

The portion of the energy spectrum that causes tanning is in the ultraviolet range and due to that those wavelengths have effect on the melanin in the skin. Overexpose can burn, freckle , damage the tissue and cause skin cancer.

Spray tanning boths are probably a safer result to be come that bronze statuesque person.

A light bulb will just use electricity.

If you use UV tanning lights, yes. Regular light bulbs would have caused us all to be very tan by now if they did the same thing.

To answer the question you were wondering about; no. You need UV rays in a light and a household incandescent bulb does not have any UV (Ultra Violet) rays.

not a light bulb in your house. they have to be special ones that are made for a tanning bed
