England doesn't represent the British Isles - it represents England and only England. Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland all fielded teams in qualifying, but they did not advance to the finals of the World Cup.

because of the fact the different countries of the united kingdom have their very own communities. As for it being honest, of path it is. all of the 4 countries in the united kingdom have their very own identity, it may well be unfair for FIFA to compromise that identity by utilising forcing a uk team onto the 4 countries. If it got here to that, then i would not blame the soccer institutions in the united kingdom in the event that they flat refused to style a uk team. no person might help it. i be attentive to i would not, for me it is England or no longer something. the reason why GB would not compete in soccer on the Olympics is to avert a precedent that Sepp Blatter needs. he's so out of touch that he thinks the united kingdom has 4 opportunities to win the international Cup, yet whilst England win the international Cup, there should not be any celebrations in Scotland or Wales. there'll be a GB team on the 2012 Olympics because of the fact it is being held in London. however the team will basically incorporate English gamers.

England only represents England. Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland all failed to qualify. Nothing to do with "British Isles" or "United Kingdom". In soccer, as with Commonwealth Games, they are individual countries, strange is it seems.

The Scots and the Irish will NEVER support England!! In fact, they will cheer against the English EVERY TIME they play.....goes way back into their history....too much fighting between Royals and purging of others countries (I'm not anti-British...I'm just repeating what my Scottish relatives say).

Funny thing is there is a joke that when Germany plays Holland, the Scots will be sitting around drinking, watching the match and cheering for Scotland!
