norton is good. the norton antivirus had the worm protection in built and can clear anti spyware according to the latest function. it also can block intrusion attempt. the noton internet security had other functions like the firewall is in-built , then it also have the parental control which helps to control the website that can be allowed for home which have kids. this function is very useful to prevent the kids from surfing the internet and visit forbidden websites which are not suitable or appropriate for them. these are the summary explanation of the 2 types of the norton product. do go to their website to get a better understanding of their other wide ranges. there is not restriction for you to get norton. if you feel like getting other brands of anti virus, you are free to do so because there is not right or wrong. its all about individual preferences and choice. so you will have to choose to which you like.

Norton Antivirus is a good choice. It has excellent detection and removal rate. Please refer to the following articles, which reviewed it:
1.Norton AntiVirus 2005: Editor's Choice --by pcmag.com (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1646457,00.asp)
2. The New Virus Fighters --by pcworld.com (http://www.pcworld.com/resource/printable/article/0,aid,124163,00.asp)
You can test out Norton AV before deciding if you want to buy it. The Google Pack, a collection of software programs for new PC owners, provides a special edition of Norton AV for free. This edition gives you 6 months of free virus signatures. After 6 months, you have to purchase a license to continue receiving signature update. You can find the Google pack at: http://pack.google.com/

No, it is horrible. They even admit that they aren't an anti-virus company. AVG is one of the best free ones. One of the best paid is Panda, but I'm also impressed by Trend Micro. Read the source for more information on how norton SUCKS.

Nortons is probably a good product, however you can get AVG free edition from http://wwwgrisoft.com
Its really good. Dont run 2 antivirals though as computers dont like that. Youm should also have Adaware SE from Lavasoft and spybot S & D for spyware and Windows defender.

Norton Anti virus, and Internet Security are both pretty good. I like McAfee Anti virus best for security, and for spy ware and ad ware protection, I like Webroots, Spy Sweeper product the best.
As for the free products on the market, well you pretty much get what you pay for, when it comes to security,
Best of luck

No they can cause problems in the long run, the free programs like AVG, Adaware and Spybot are the best.
If you want a good firewall to i suggest getting a hardware one instead of an software version.

It all depends according to your Priorities..If you have a system with lots of resources(memory ,processing Power ..etc)..not to mention the money..its good
but it tends to slow down the system(PC)..more over there are some issuses when trying to un install...
inversely if you are a user low on resources.. i would suggest you use any other one .. like AVG.. they dont use system resources that much...
