Everyone is going to have their own definitions of "Goth" and "Emo" but how I see it is a person who is Gothic or a Goth dresses in dark, shaggy clothing, and someone who is Emo dresses about the same but is more so dressed like a punk-rocker type but has depressing thoughts such as experiencing a wonderful death or slitting their wrists to be happy. Overall, I guess their about the same.

Yea, goth is people that dress from what i would say the dark side. And an emo is like a more less vision of goth people

Goth is a style that has certain tastes in music. Goth goes for horror movie decorations, black clothes and hair and makeup, that sort of thing, and use morbid themes in music.
Emo is a musical style featuring a reaction against violence and using dramatic emotional elements in lyrics and performance. It doesn't have the well-defined fashion statement that Goth has.

well they are both stereotypes but from what i hear, emo is not as dark as goth. emo has a certain stereotype longer haircut and emo guys like to wear girl pants and sometimes like to kiss other guys. that's something u wouldn't find goths doing. and emo music isn't so loud like heavy metal (which is stereotyped with goths)

I think goths are 'gothic'... so they tend to act in that manner... Emos are just 'emotional' and therefore include a larger group of people, like thespians and other 'odd' folks... goths are probably a subset of emos.

Yes because goths usually wear all black including black makeup. Emo kids are preppy kids who listen to whiny music who wear girl pants and tight shirts who could pass for gay.. without the makeup.

It is possible to be an emo goth, but not all emos are goth and not all goths are emos.

goth is evil and stuff, emo is like stupid, people think it means crybaby and crap but actually another way to call special ed is emotionally disturbed classes, and thats what emo stands for

i would say yes, cause goth would be more as a hiding themself in to darkness. emos, they just emo, it dosent hide nothing.
