Yes! As an unfortunate employee of them I can tell you first hand that the VAST majority of products sold there come from other countrys , china, mexico, india among the top ones imported from this has closed a huge number of AMERICAN jobs because for a company to be able to sell to wallmart they have to meet thier low price guidelines. dont forget the low wages paid by them also makes it like the old company stores from the past. the employees end up at the bottom of the wage scale and have limited options of where they can shop and end up giveing thier paychecks back to Walmart because thye cant afford to shop any place else, On average the employees of walmart live on the ledge of the poverty scale, they end up on some form of welfare liike food stamps, medicare, assisted houseing ect ect and put a bigger burden on thier comunities funds for helping those in need, yes I would love to be working someplace else but im stuck where im at being too old now to be able to get a good paying job in another field ,

Walmart is both good and bad, but they have developed a successful business model. The thing is though if situations change walmart could dry up and go away just like every other business "giant" of the past. They do provide goods at a cheaper cost that everyone can afford, but they do put other stores out of business and they dont pay the greatest, but mom and pop stores probably didnt pay very well either. They are not evil though, just a business that has a successful business model. Things always change, nothing ever stays as it was.

walmart is real bad for small businesses. small businesses just can't keep up with there prices. Sounds good to the consumer but not the businesses people try so hard to work for.

Now just incase u didn't know it's bad for big businesses too. They HAVE to price there items according to what ever wal mart says. If not, there drop em like flies so the big corps become slaves to walmart and why did do they do it? Because theres more walmarts then kmarts, sears, or any clothes stores.

I could go on forever but my fingers are starting to hurt. :)

They certainly aren't good for small-town America, that's for sure. How many family owned businesses have gone under because they couldn't keep up with Wal-mart?

I refuse to shop there, personally, for that and other reasons. If I can't find it at Target, I'll spend the extra money and shop somewhere else.

Rubbermaid is closing it's doors in Centerville IA. Good enough for me. I shop at Wal-Mart, but I don't really like it. The produce ALWAYS SUCKS.

Yes and no.

Firstly, they push out many smaller ma-and-pa businesses this country was founded by. Did you know that up to 90% or so businesses in the US are small businesses? They put prices and make it nearly impossible to keep up. And they have been known to bully them out of business too.

No, if you are a buyer. Cheap prices.

I love walmart. I'm poor, so walmart fits my budget. And gas prices are killing me. With Wal-mart, it's one stop shopping.
