Boy, I would think it would depend on the church league not the state. I can't imagine it would be older than 12 though, I mean your not working in a sweat shop.

The requirements for a church softball league in Alabama:
Must be over 350lbs.
Must enjoy wearing sweat bands around your head.
Must enjoy wearing knee-high socks.
Must have failed at high school sports as a child and are now "making up for it" in the league.
Must be able to consume lots of alcohol before and after game.
Must be able to "run" the bases in under 7 minutes without the use of an oxygen tank and/or defibulator.
Actually I think these are the requirements for all softball leagues!
On a more serious note, I would imagine at least 18 years of age unless they allow minors with a release of liability and ok with the parents.

Who cares about softball? Play Baseball, the real sport.

If it's an adult league---18.

There are insurance and liability issues there. Ask your league director.
