i have a close guy friend really close we both date other people but he knows that i care for him more than just a friend so why would he tell me about a new girl he met and how much fun they have when they are together when before we have never really talked about the other people in our lives-is it to hurt,make me mad what?

It may be hard to hear, but most guys take things at face value. You two are close friends, and he hasn't considered that you are feeling more for him if you haven't told him. Because he's sharing his good times with you about this other girl, he simply doesn't realize you're past "close friends" headed to "mutually exclusive."
You're going to have to go outside your comfort zone and make it clear to him that he's more than just a close friend to you, but you must be prepared for the fact that you've had time to consider this, and he hasn't.
Or, you could continue on as things are, letting it drive you crazy.
Bottom line: when you set things up a certain way for a guy, that's how he expects it to be down the road...this is why guys always want their girls to stay the same, and girls always hope their guys will change.

1. The guy is simply comfortable talking to you about such subject, and he doesn't realize your feelings are being hurt. If you guys are truly good friends then this is most likely answer.
2. The guy is trying to see if he can make you jealous (if he is cunning)
By the way, did you tell him you liked him as more then a friend? Some guys are rather dense and wouldn't be able to figure out girls true feelings unless it smacks them in the face.
Also, if you guys are friends with . . . "benefits". then its probably first answer.

He probably really likes her and wants to let people know. He probably doesn't like you the same way you do and doesn't think it will bother you. If he is really your friend he wouldn't try to hurt you or make you mad....Maybe he doesn't realize he's cutting you off. Ask him why he is doing this if that that good of friends he will tell you.

The most likely possibility is that he didn't consider the ramifications of what it might mean to you that he told you that. Since he only seems to like you as a friend, he didn't consider telling you about her to mean anything more than him expressing how much he likes the other girl.

He's a guy - so he probably isn't as emotionally in tuned as you are. He may not realize how much you like him or that you like him as more than a friend. Either that, or he is telling you to make you jealous so that he can see how you feel about him.

There are many things that that could mean.
1. He could really like you. By telling you about his girlfriend he could be just trying to get you jealous.
2. He could just not be interested in you and by telling you about his girlfriend he is telling you that you need to stop thinking about him in that way.
or 3. He could be a real jerk. He could know that you like him and try to purposely hurt you

He is sharing something personal with you. That's a big step for a guy. Don't assume it is jealously right away. Good friends who
can chat about their lives personally and maintain respect doing
so are keepers. It's his way of confiding in you, I hope.

Maybe because you are to him, very close also, so he feels he can tell you things. Maybe this is his first real love and he wants to share with you his happiness. If you've both dates others, then why are you feeling jealous?

you are seriously thinking about just dating him exclusively and
