If we had a perfect justice system where innocent ppl where never convicted I'd probably be okay with Captial punishment but our system is so far from perfect it's scary. I think that the death penality should be reserved for serial killers like Manson, Dahmer and the likes where there just isn't any hope for rehabillitation. Not to mention that I get really sick of hearing about ppl sitting in prison for 20-30 years on appeals.

Hell yes. Only I support PUBLIC EXECUTIONS. Execution isn't much of a deterrent when it's only an article in a newspaper. But a good old fashioned HANGING on the square at noon? Now THAT'S a deterrent! I also believe in bringing back stockades in the square. Lock a guy up in one of those for driving drunk for about 6 months in all weather, and let him eat what the poor liberal bleeding heart New American Communists are willing to take him from their own kitchens. That would be a deterrent, as well as a savings to every municipality in the nation with overcrowded jails.

Yes I do. In the Bible it even prescribes it for certain crimes. And for those who are about to criticize me for that comment, I am a born-again Christian and yes the Bible does teach in Capital punishment. Dust your Bible off and take a look through it

Well... spending your lifetime in jail would be a more torturing punishment. But there are some harmful individuals that are a danger even in jail... I think we should get rid of them for good.

But anyone who lost a loved one because of a serial killer, or was kidnapped and tortured, or raped would give you a better answer.

In some cases yes but the overall system sucks because many innocent people have been on death row for years. Would you like to be on deathrow for something you know you didn't do?

its a hard question its like the abortion debate, it can be either way, like a abused child or partner thats took revenge on the abuser, it shouldnt be ignored the crime but i dont believe in capital punishment in that situation.but as for crimes that are like murder and rape that are taken upon a innocent for no reason yes.

I sure do, we just need to revamp the appeals process and limit the number of appeals, and buy a bullet instead of using lethal injection then it would be cost effective also.

definately not..... under no circumstance should a persons life be taken for something they acted upon.. and i think that the punishment of death is actually a gift.. if you want someone to lear something is bad... what is killing going to do? its like a couple minutes and they are gone right? and what power do we have ne ways to deliberately take the lives of our fellow humans?? whatever higher power there is... they sure as hell dont need our help in ridding the earth of evil... they have plenty of power to distribute punishment to those who deserve it... if the criminal is kept alive then they have time to think about their actions and perhaps feel guilty about them..

how are we supposed to teach not to kill by killing?

I absolutely do. I think that those who commit such horrid offenses shouldn't be supported by my tax money, which is what happens when they go to prison.
