Is it possible that we just became too entrenched in our illusion of invincibility, thinking that no one anywhere could ever hurt us? Or that we were just plain arrogant?

Anything is possible. Maybe it was a mysterious guy named Bob hiding behind mars, too?

Methinks it's way more probable that 911 was aided/orchestrated in some way by Cheney and his cabal to achieve their much broader agenda of geopolitical and financial goals.

Just see http://newamericancentury.org/ for evidence.

No. Are Americans arrogant? Maybe. Overconfident? Probably. But would a loving God blow up a bunch of people (not just Americans, by the way) to prove a point? I don't think so.

9/11 was planned years ago. it happened so that bush had a reason to start a war and get our noses into something we shouldn't be into. it's a part of an elaborate plan that will eventually lead to the new world order. the world is nearing the end, read Revelations in the Bible.

You shouldn't say things like that, if God loves us why would he cause such great pain, do you think it is fun to instill fear of God in people? That is useless and mean. What do you think small children think about God when they hear things like this? Do you think you are helping their faith in any way by saying this?

People do bad things here on this planet, but I don't think telling people that God causes disasters to happen is going to persuade those people to change their minds.

God had nothing to do with it. Just a bunch of insane haters who wanted to hurt/kill as many innocent civilians as possible. If there is a hell, I hope they get the full treatment.

But no God wasn't the mastermind behind all that. Yeah blame God for everything.

Arrogant and lazy. An it won't happen to us mantality made us ignore prior indications. That and someone would actually have to do something and enforce it.. that is work. We don't want to actually have to work. That is against the american way.

This is not how God works. If you remember in Genesis (Noah's Ark) "God resolved that he would never again curse the ground because of man, and never again would He destroy all life on it in this manner."
