First, find the area of the kitchen floor:
width x length = area
12 x 20 = 240 feet squared

Then, find out the area of the kitchen floor by yards squared, since the cost of each tile is by yards:
# of feet divided by 3 = # of yards
240 divided by 3 (3 is the number of yards in a foot) = 80 yards squared

Multiply the area in yards squared times the cost of each tile to get your final answer:
80 x 8.91 = 712.80

Don't forget your label!
Answer: $712.80

Hope this helps!

First, find the sqaure feet area of the kitchen floor... 12 x 20 = 240 sq ft 1 sqare yard = 3 ft x 3 ft = 9 sq ft Therefore, 240 sq ft / 9 sq ft = 26.67 sq yards of tile needed for the floor So, 26.67 sq yds x $8.91 per sq yd = $237.63

Convert square feet to square yards then you can find the answer. I had a friend my second time in college who used to ask me for help in his studies. I realized that I wasn't really helping him but that I was hurting him instead.

The first time that I went to college I had to drop out at mid term because of my failing grades. I didn't want them on my transcript. The reason I was failing was because I went to a friend of mine, who was taking the same classes, for help. When he explained the solutions to me I was able to understand them and I did well on my homework. The problem was that when test time came around I hadn't developed my own independent thinking skills well enough to be able to figure out the solutions on my own so I failed the tests.

I told my friend from the second time in college this story. He quit asking for help and started believing more in himself and his own ability to learn. A few weeks later he came back to me and thanked me for not helping him. His grades were better now than they had ever been.

Well, how many sq ft is the room? 12 * 20 = 240 sq ft
This equals 240 / 9 = 26.67 sq yd

Cost per sq yd = $8.91

26.67*8.91 = $237.60
