No, I had a 1976 Sun Bug, automatic aith factory air.
I also had a 1965 Karmann Ghia (VW) with an automatic stick shift... it had an automatic clutch, You just shifted when you needed too like a stick, but no clutch pedal.

My sister-in-law in Ohio had a 2000 and 2002 VW Beetle, and both were/are automatic transmission.

No, they had "semi-automatic" sorry I can't tell you anymore, because I can't explain it. I've seen them though. It's like two gears or something. I think it was a '70-something VW Beetle.
I'm sure you'll get some better answers on this...

There were old style bugs with auto-stick, which is a combination of an automatic and manual trasmission. The gears were shifted manually, but there was no clutch.
