I have an ipod and customer support wont help without 50 bucks for a phone call, but when I attempt to play music it will play all the songs fine, but when I try and change to some songs it randomly stops and freezes at the screen when it plays. That screen will stay there for hours untill the battery dies and then works fine after I recharge it. Any ideas before I take a hammer to it?

You may have to reload ur software and reconnect it, fix a firmware problem, mine did the same thing brand new, once reloaded software, fixed blingo-bango like new

toggle the hold button while pressing the on button.. this should reset it. But always check your owners manual.

if you bought it from a retail chain like Best Buy and you purchased a warranty, you can bring it back there and have it looked at by their service department.
